Shoe Tutorial

I have had a lot of convos suggesting I put a basic tutorial on my blog of how these shoes are made. Here is a run down of how I make the loafers.

Place elastic over the "upper" piece and stitch in place.

With right sides together, place the inside "upper" piece (with fusible interface ironed on) over the top - pin & sew.

Turn and press.

Match and sew heels.

Turn and press.

Place a "sole" piece under the inside lining & sew all the way around the sole.

You now have something starting to look like a shoe.

Place another "sole" piece over the top.

Sew 3/4 the way around & turn the shoe right side out.

Hand sew the gap closed using the drawing stitch (drawing stitch included in my pattern instructions)

Enjoy!

Now - you just need to purchase the pattern pieces from my Etsy shop in children sizes 8 - 12!

Mary Jane Flats Pattern

I've been working on getting patterns drafted for these Mary Jane flats. I have child size 8 - 12 in one pattern set, sizes 13 - 4 in another set, Women's sizes 5 - 9 in a set, and I just need to finish my toddler sizes for 18 months to 36 months. I'm considering posting a tutorial on how these shoes are made on this blog. Please leave a comment and let me know if you think that would be helpful.

Are Bloggers Really This Nice?

Wow! I never knew how nice the world of bloggers could be. Thank you for all the nice comments and thanks to everyone who stopped by my shop for the give-away! Now if I can figure out how to throw blogging into the mix of other things to juggle in life I think I could really get the hang of this. Bloggers are super nice!
